Jesse Cook

Canadian nuevo-flamenco guitarist Jesse Cook comes to The Apex for the first time following numerous sell-out shows across the country last year.

As a master of multiple genres: flamenco, world and jazz, Jesse’s ability to blend these together over his 25-year career has brought him multiple accolades.

He has sold out concert halls the world over, produced five PBS television specials, five live CDs and has sold over 1.5 million records worldwide... not a bad legacy for a guy who never planned to release an album.

Talking about his music, Jesse explains: "If you go to Spain and you play (my) music, they’ll say, what is this? They don’t recognise it as Flamenco because it’s not; it’s a hybrid. I love Flamenco, but I also love world music: jazz, pop, Brazilian Samba, and Persian music."
