2019 sees a new direction for folk singer Sam Lee as he broaches a new sound and a refined vision of how the old songs of Great Britain and Ireland hold purpose in this modern age.Sam’s much-awaited third album, ‘Old Wow’, will be released in late 2019 and follows two critically acclaimed albums, one of which was nominated for the prestigious Mercury prize.
The new album and this gig will see Sam making an unequivocal statement on what the inner teaching of these ancient devotional songs have to offer us in these uncertain and environmentally perilous times.
Sam will be accompanied by James Keay (piano), Misha Mullov-Abbado (double bass), Kalli Opimitropoulou (violin) and Josh Green (percussion).
"Sam Lee is Britain’s most inventive folk singer" - Songlines.
