This concert with the wonderful Britten Sinfonia features not one, but three, soloists.
Celebrated tenor, Mark Padmore is joined by the orchestra’s principal horn, Martin Owen to perform Britten’s magical evocation of twilight and nightfall, the Serenade for tenor horn and strings. In a change to the original programme, guitarist Morgan Szymanski performs Alec Roth’s concerto for guitar and string orchestra, described by the Plymouth Herald: "the specially commissioned Guitar Concerto by Alec Roth eventually stole the show, for here was a brand new contemporary work which was not only perfectly formed, but was such a delight to hear.”.
